Apprenticeship project 2012
Thanks to the Hauser family’s accommodating approach, at the start of May our apprentices were able to invite their parents and department heads to the apprenticeship project 2012 entitled ‘At home at the Stanglwirt’ held in the Kaminstube lounge. Parents received a warm welcome in the reception area at the start of the afternoon and this was followed by a champagne and canapé gathering, offering initial insight into this special event.
After a special tour of the hotel by our reception apprentices, parents were offered a seat in the Kaminstube lounge where they were welcomed by our service apprentices. While the supporting programme unfolded, selected wines and the menu were presented and the kitchen apprentices had plenty to keep them busy. Six tasty courses, specially compiled by apprentice chef Christoph Mauracher, were served up on time.
The apprentices were visibly nervous; after all, their parents, department heads and Stanglwirt manager Magdalena Hauser were sitting waiting in the Kaminstube lounge! Since the planning of the event was left entirely to the apprentices, they did not want to make any mistakes and were keen to make a good impression!
The project started out as an idea which was discussed among various others at the monthly apprentices gathering with department heads. It was quickly established that apprentices Katrin Schiml, Edith Bindhammer and Sarah Scheurer would be responsible for planning the event, allocating the tasks and designing the invitations. Sarah Scheurer devised a Powerpoint presentation as an attractive background to the event which introduced all of the apprentices.
Eva-Maria Wolsegger was responsible for the entire service organisation and with great success. Collaboration with the kitchen, events apprentices and other service apprentices was required. When it came to the decorations, office apprentices Katrin Daxer and Carmen Schellhorn were responsible for planning the budget.
On the evening of the project, after a short introduction all of the office apprentices busied themselves serving the courses along with the service apprentices. The nerves gradually declined as each course was served and everyone enjoyed putting on such a great evening for the guests. Our hotel band SASA provided some great entertainment along with regular guest Biwi Rehm who showed off his yodelling skills!
We hope our parents and department heads had a great evening. It was a unique opportunity to show our parents what we have learnt and to prove ourselves. We are very proud to be completing our training at the Stanglwirt and we would like to thank the Hauser family and our superiors for enabling us to host this fantastic evening!
Best wishes from the Stanglwirt apprentices
