Long-term friendship with Reinhold Messner

An enthusiasm for mountain climbing brings people together – the long-term friendship of the Hauser family with mountain climber Reinhold Messner certainly proves this. It was a great honour to welcome him, his wife Sabine Stehle and his youngest daughter Anna to the Stanglwirt on their belated honeymoon. While Anna spent most of her time in the riding arena, her parents enjoyed some quiet time-out and relaxed in the spa. And it was certainly well-deserved as anyone acquainted with Reinhold Messner knows about the endless activities undertaken by this extreme climber!

Last Winter we and our 1,500 guests were captivated and Reinhold Messner couldn’t have presented it better himself! An authentic and spectacular show in the form of an open-air showing of ‘Nanga Parbat’ by long-term Stanglwirt guest and friend of the family, the renowned director Joseph Vilsmaier – right at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser! The public and media were both excited and deeply moved by this film interpretation of the autobiographical history of the mountain-climbing brothers, Reinhold and Günther Messner.
