Hiking

Hiking is the traditional form of exercise, providing a chance to slow down from the hectic pace of daily life, bringing people back to earth. The 'Gamsstadt' of Kitzbühel which has the Kitzbüheler Horn and the Hahnenkamm, is the starting point for 1000 kilometres of hiking routes in the Kitzbüheler Alpen. The power of the mountains, the tranquillity, the crispness and the views help strengthen body, spirit and soul, and at your own individual tempo. The Kitzbüheler Summer Card is an ideal companion for many hiking tours. With it nature-lovers can conquer 13 mountains with 29 cable cars, in a state of limbo, as it were. Having arrived at the top the impressive panorama of the Wilder Kaiser opens up above the Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge, right the way through to the Hohen Tauern. A route network which branches out in all directions connects 20 altitude hiking trails.

Early risers can take the first cable car at four in the morning and can enjoy breakfast on the summit of the Horn while the sun rises in the Kitzbüheler Alpen – an experience which you are guaranteed to remember for a long time to come. Day tours, which are suitable for leisure hikers, head to the Hahnenkamm and the Streif, the Wilder Kaiser, the Krimmler Waterfalls in the Hohen Tauern and to the Kitzbüheler Horn. Kitzbühel's grassy mountains are ideal for mountain adventures with the family.
