800 kilometres of mountain bike routes and 1200 kilometres of road bike tours enables sports fans to really put power to their pedals. 14 new routes of all difficulty levels have been chosen and compiled by GPS in the 'Kitz Roadbike' folder with the help of local cycling stars.
Among the highlights in the valley are the World Cup circuit (66.5 km) between Kitzbühel and Kössen, the Pillerseetal circuit (78.5 km) and the Kitzbüheler circuit (28.5 km). One particular classic in the international cycling scene – even since the 1970s – is the Kitzbüheler Horn. The panorama road is the King of the Mountains stage during the Tour of Austria (04. – 05.07.11). At up to 22.3 percent the Horn is the steepest mountain for cycling in Austria and one of the most challenging climbs in the international, professional cycling scene.
The Kitzbüheler Horn has its finger on the pulse of time all summer long. Since summer 2010 there has been a permanent time measurement facility which provides information about your own personal best time. Those who like to ride in the mountains can also do a circuit around the Kitzbüheler Horn (116 km), the Wilder Kaiser (88 km) and the Gerlos circuit too (175 km).
