Stanglwirt’s traditional Christmas market – every Wednesday in Advent. Between the brass bands, straw stars and doughnuts.
We celebrate Advent each year, every Wednesday in Advent, with a traditional Christmas market on the guesthouse terrace – down-to-earth, contemplative and traditional. No kitsch, no exaggerated glitz and glamour, no "Last Christmas" – simple traditions with treats from the region. The scent of mulled wine, gingerbread biscuits and doughnuts fills the air and the sounds of brass bands makes Advent at the Stanglwirt a relaxing time and a unique experience. Exhibitors from Tyrol offer local farm crafts from carved mangers to brooms, antique farm furniture, freshly baked Christmas biscuits and traditional treats made by Tyrolean farmers from the surrounding area and the Stanglwirt kitchens. On 8 December, St. Nicholas visits the Stanglwirt with small gifts for our younger guests. On 15 and 22 December, singers dressed as herders, according to an old tradition, amuse guests at the market with their traditional songs and readings and signal the start of the Christmas festivities. Between the traditional crafts and Christmas treats, a counselling service is also offering a stand at the Christmas market. Stanglwirt’s market offers numerous attractions, in particular for younger visitors, with all proceeds going to the counselling service. These attractions include riding on the Stangl ponies! Enjoy the build-up to Christmas within a traditional and cosy ambience on the Stanglwirt terrace, with the snow-topped slopes of the Wilder Kaiser in sight.
