The Easter Bunny has paid an early visit to the Stanglwirt Lippizaner stud farm. Since 30 March 2012, it has been joined by a new sweetheart: The colt Siglavy Avansa will carry on the stock of the pride stallion Siglavy Capriola Primas.
On 30 March 2012 the Lippizaner colt Siglavy Avansa, under the supervision of our vet and stud farm colleague, came into the world. With her dark brown coat and awkward manner, there is not yet much to remind us of the elegance of the noble Lippizaners. It's only the white forehead that indicates the lineage of the eagerly anticipated offspring.
Since 1985, we have been in possession of the first private Lippizaner breeding in Austria. Stallion Pluto Verona, who was trained by Johannes Hamminger, now chief stable master of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, sired much offspring in his 36 years, leaving behind a great legacy. Today there are no less than 31 horses here at Stanglwirt, including 28 home-bred Lippizaners.
Two horses, including the pony Susi, are housed in the Stanglwirt children's farm. For fans of equestrian sports, or those who want to become so, the Stanglwirt offers a large range of hack riding options and courses. During your stay at the Stanglwirt, you can even house your own horses in the guest bays for Euro 28 per day, incl. fodder and litter.
