Wladimir Klitschko: successful training camp at the Stanglwirt

Our regular guests keep on coming back – as do Ukrainian boxers Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko (together with their training team consisting of a manager, trainers, sparring partners and physiotherapist). They are among the most loyal of our many celebrity guests. The 3-times world champion (IBF, WBO and IBO) again held his training camp here at the Stanglwirt, making use of the perfect setting to prepare for his fight against British boxer Dereck Chisora on 11 December 2010 in Mannheim (SAP Arena).

The heavy weight boxer Wladimir Klitschko is renowned for being in great physical condition when he fights. The Stanglwirt offers everything a world champion needs to train: a tennis court where a boxing ring with 4 sand bags is set up for the duration of the training camp at the Stanglwirt, as well as dreamy views of the mountain landscape and an unspoilt natural environment – ideal for balanced fitness training and most importantly for peace and quiet which is essential for mental preparation.

Experience has shown that the training camp at the Stanglwirt has become something of a tradition for the Klitschko brothers now. Wladimir Klitschko stressed again how welcome he and his team feel at the Stanglwirt. And we certainly appreciate having the heavy weights stay with us! We know each other well now and share their excitement about the fights. We always look forward to welcoming then back ‘home’ to the Stanglwirt.
