The Lipizzan Stud of the Stanglwirt is an in-house riding and breeding operation at the site Going am Wilden Kaiser in Tyrol. It was founded in 1985 by Balthasar Hauser and is, according to its own statements, the first private Lipizzan stud in Austria. The Lipizzan Stud belongs to the field of riding holidays in Austria and equestrian offerings in the hotel context. The stock of the stud consists exclusively of purebred Lipizzans. The Lipizzan breed is one of the oldest cultivated horse breeds in Europe and is closely connected with the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. The Stanglwirt stud continues this tradition as a private operation and combines breeding, husbandry and tourist use.
The keeping of Lipizzans belongs to the field of traditional horse breeding and historically established riding traditions. It forms the technical basis of the in-house riding offering and distinguishes the stud from purely leisure-oriented riding stables.
The riding offering of the Stanglwirt is aimed at beginners from the age of eight and at advanced riders. It comprises riding lessons in the hall and on outdoor terrain. For children between three and eight years of age, pony riding and guided walks with Lipizzans are offered. In the summer months, the programme is complemented by carriage rides with Lipizzans; in winter, carriage rides are conducted with a Tyrolean cold-blood horse.

It complements the family wellness offerings, the children's water world and the further sports and leisure facilities of the hotel to form a closed family programme. Operational responsibility for breeding and the riding school lies with Elisabeth Hauser-Benz and is thereby anchored within the generational succession of the Hauser Family. Through the jointly used grassland and alpine pasture areas there is a direct organisational connection to the Organic Farm of the Stanglwirt. Among equestrian hotels in the Alps, it is regularly listed as an example of a 5-star house with its own Lipizzan breeding.
