On the piste with kith and kin
The ‘big ski jump’ is a full 30 centimetres in height, and after the first test ride in the banked turns and wave runs, the long jump into the white wad of snow is the big test of courage for three to twelve year-olds.
Away from the pistes there are nine toboggan runs in total in the Kitzbüheler Alpen, of which five are illuminated 24 hours a day, the ideal destination for a family excursion. On the 3.5 kilometre long natural toboggan run on the Gaisberg a four-seater chair lift takes toboggan riders right up to the start. There is a free toboggan shuttle every Wednesday from 8.30 p.m. to the torch-lit toboggan run, on the 1.2 kilometre run in Erpfendorf. For ice-skating there is either the indoor ice rink in Kitzbüheler Sportpark, or from mid January, when there is ice on Schwarzsee, ice-skaters practice their turns with the breathtaking backdrop of the Wilder Kaiser.
