Five Star Diamond Award
The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences has awarded us its coveted "Five Star Diamond Award". This means that we, as a traditional Tyrolean hotel, join the ranks of internationally renowned prize-winners from the luxury hotel business.
With great ceremony, Joseph D. Cinque, President and CEO of the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences (AAHS), joined by actor and presenter Frederik Meisner, Ambassador for the Academy in Germany and Austria, presented Balthasar Hauser with the prestigious Five Star Diamond Award. Every year, the Academy – whose international team of experts includes, among others, celebrities like Donald J. Trump – pays tribute to five-star hotels, restaurants, cruise ships, airlines and tourist businesses around the world for their outstanding services in the luxury travel sector.
"This award is an extraordinary honour for us," said a delighted Balthasar Hauser. "We are very proud and absolutely overjoyed to be mentioned in the same breath as such iconic hotels as the Eden Roc on the Côte d'Azur, The Dorchester in London and the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. Once again in 2013, the Stanglwirt was hugely popular with independent juries, specialist publications and, above all, its guests, winning numerous awards throughout the year. One of its most recent prizes was the "Golden Roulette Ball", which has been awarded since 1982 by Casinos Austria and Gault Millau to outstanding Austrian restaurants. Once again the Hauser family also won the "Certificate of Excellence" presented by the world's biggest travel portal, TripAdvisor, in 2013. Furthermore, the Stanglwirt won the "Travellers' Choice Award", which is likewise presented by TripAdvisor and is based on reviews by travellers from all over the world. In December 2012, Balthasar Hauser received a very special honour: he was voted "Hotelier of the Year" by the specialist gastronomy magazine Rolling Pin.
